Since the 4th of May, The "Centre Georges Pompidou" in Paris exposes part of our work related to Shanghai and this blog.
Our materials (photos and texts) can be seen there. Especially the part related to the "One City, Nine Towns" project.
The exhibition will end on the 9th of August.
The subtitles of the exhibition, "from luna parcs to cities of the future" , is a great resume of the specific urbanity of Shanghai that we tried to understand here.
I quote this citation of J. G. Ballard (author born in Shanghai in 1930) from the book of the exhibition :

"I am of a generation for whom the big city meant a centre of cultural influence (London, Paris, New York) or economic power (London, New York); now it has become a theme park (Las Vegas, Dubai), a vast camp (the cities of China) or an architectural aberration and utter social hotchpotch (Tokyo)"
Quite relevant !
